Basic RiderCourse – 3-Wheel

The Basic RiderCourse – 3‑Wheel

  • Qualifies graduates for insurance premium discounts with some motorcycle insurers
  • Provides a New York DMV Road Test Waiver

The MSF Basic RiderCourse – 3-Wheel is designed for license-aged novice riders, but experienced riders can benefit too. eCourse helps you with learn-to-ride exercises in a controlled, off-street environment. Motorcycles are usually provided free of charge for your use during the course.

You’ll learn about the different types of motorcycles, layout and operation of the controls, and how to become a safe and responsible rider. You’ll review the different types of safety gear worn for protection and comfort. You’ll find out how to perceive hazards in traffic and avoid distractions that can affect your safety.

During the riding activities, your RiderCoach (an experienced motorcyclist certified by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation) will start you off with slow-speed operation, stopping, and turning. You’ll gradually progress to swerving and more proficient braking.

The Basic RiderCourse – 3-Wheel concludes with a riding skill evaluation. Once your RiderCoach hands you the course completion card, you’ll be happy knowing that you’ve made the smart move to develop safe riding practices. Your introduction to the wonderful world of motorcycling has just begun!
